Jim was born August 3, 1943 in Kentucky or Ohio, depending on which story you heard. He called his last low strike on July 25, 2010. Jim is survived by his wife Bea, sons Tom, Tim and Jim, daughter Mary Lane, stepson Chris Church, grandchildren, a great-grandchild and extended family, including his beloved softball family.
Jim served in the US Air Force and was a decorated Vietnam veteran. He retired from local 501 Circus Circus after 20 years.
He was Umpire-in-Chief for 30 years for the state of Nevada and umpired in the 2000 Olympics.
Memorial services will be held at Davis Funeral Home, West Charleston, Las Vegas on Thursday, July 29 at 11:00. Viewing from 10:00 - 10:45.
